CloudClear, a 22-person startup based in San Francisco, has raised $40M in a Series B round led by Andreessen Horowitz. The company builds tools that help enterprises understand and optimize their cloud spending.

The problem

Cloud billing is notoriously opaque. A typical enterprise AWS bill can run to thousands of line items, and most engineering teams have no idea where their money is going. CloudClear's platform provides real-time visibility into cloud costs, with AI-powered recommendations for optimization.

Traction

The startup claims its customers have collectively saved over $200M in cloud costs since launch. Notable clients include three Fortune 500 companies and dozens of high-growth startups.

CEO Maya Rodriguez says the funding will go toward expanding the platform to support multi-cloud environments and hiring engineering talent.
